Optimal conditions for the development of papaya seedlings when grown in artificial substrates of different volumes are created if their volume is not less than 2649 sm³ and seeding directly into the greenhouse soil. The use of small-volume cups (98 and 785 sm³) filled with an artificial substrate is not effective for the cultivation of papaya seedlings since they do not provide the developing plants with good nutritional conditions.
