MATH+ Adventskalender 2023: Aufgaben und Lösungen

Abstract

The Berlin Mathematics Research Center MATH+ is funded as an Excellence Clusterwithin the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments. MATH+ conducts application-driven mathematical research with societal relevance. The Math Advent Calendar was first offered by MATH+’s predecessor Matheon in 2004. Since then, the Math Advent Calendar has been held annually. Researchers, doctoral candidates, and students from MATH+ and 4TU.AMI have developed 24 mathematics problems inspired by their research to bring current research closer to students. These challenging mathematics problems can be found in this book. The problems cover areas such as combinatorics, graph theory, algebra, analysis, geometry, stochastics, topology, and many more. Each problem is accompanied by a solution
