Abstract

Lethocerus maximus De Carlo, 1938 Geographic distribution. Curaçao (Nieser & Alkins-Koo 1991), Trinidad & Tobago (Hynes 1948), Colombia (Cummings 1933), Venezuela (De Carlo 1938), Guyana (Uhler 1884), Suriname (De Geer 1773), French Guiana (Amyot & Serville 1843), Brazil (Cummings 1933), Peru (Perez-Goodwyn 2006), Bolivia (De Carlo 1938), Paraguay (Cummings 1933), Argentina (Río & Achával 1904). Distribution in Peru. Loreto, Huánuco (Perez-Goodwyn 2006). Note. South American records of L. grandis (Linnaeus, 1758) from outside the area defined by Perez-Goodwyn (2006) for that species are considered to be L. maximus by the same author.
