Abstract

ABSTRACT (English) This study aims to explore the importance of preserving Filipino culture, the challenges in its preservation, and the strategies to ensure its continuity. Focusing on students in the Humanities and Social Sciences at St. Paul University Surigao, the study examines their experiences and perspectives on cultural education. Utilizing a quantitative-descriptive method through questionnaires, it gathers data on the attitudes, behaviors, and overall experiences of 135 respondents. The study reveals the effectiveness of teaching historical values to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Filipino culture. Perspectives on integrating cultural heritage into the educational curriculum yield moderately positive feelings. The media received positive ratings for its role in disseminating knowledge about Filipino culture. Community engagement is recognized as influential in shaping identity and values. The study recommends increasing educational activities and community involvement to enhance cultural awareness and responsibility.Keywords: Historical Values, Filipino Culture, Media, Educational Institutions, Community Engagement ABSTRACT (Filipino)Ang pag-aaral na ito ay naglalayong tuklasin ang kahalagahan ng pagpapanatili ng kulturang Pilipino, ang mga hamon sa pagpapanatili nito, at mga estratehiya upang matiyak ang pagpapatuloy nito. Nakatuon sa mga mag-aaral sa Humanidades at Agham Panlipunan sa St. Paul University Surigao, sinisiyasat ng pag-aaral ang kanilang mga karanasan at pananaw tungkol sa kultural na edukasyon. Gumamit ng kuwantitatibong-deskriptibong pamamaraan sa pamamagitan ng talatanungan upang mangalap ng datos sa mga saloobin, pag-uugali, at pangkalahatang karanasan ng 135 na mga respondente. Lumabas sa pag-aaral ang pagiging epektibo ng pagtuturo ng mga pangkasaysayang pagpapahalaga upang maipakita ang malalim na pag-unawa at pagpapahalaga sa kulturang Pilipino. Ang mga pananaw sa pagsasama ng pamana ng kultura sa kurikulum na pang-edukasyon ay nagbubunga ng katamtamang positibong damdamin. Nakatanggap ang media ng positibong marka para sa papel nito sa pagpapalaganap ng kaalaman tungkol sa kulturang Pilipino. Ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa komunidad ay kinikilala bilang maimpluwensiya sa paghubog ng pagkakakilanlan at mga pagpapahalaga. Inirerekomenda ng pag-aaral ang pagtaas ng mga aktibidad na pang-edukasyon at pakikilahok sa komunidad upang mapahusay ang kamalayan sa kultura at responsibilidad.Keywords: Kahalagahang pangkasaysayan, Kulturang Pilipino, Media, Institusyong Pang-edukasyon, Pakikipag-ugnayan sa Komunidad
