It's not only about technology! Educating future standards professionals

Abstract

On May 7, 2024, Edu4Standards teams from Vilnius University and the University of Graz presented the first preliminary results of WP2 at the 22nd Annual STS Conference Graz 2024 „Critical Issues in Science, Technology and Society Studies“ in Graz, Austria. The presentation was delivered during the session "B.3: (Responsible) Standardisation of Disruptive Digital Technologies”, chaired by the long-standing member of the academic group in standardisation research, Dr. Kai Jakobs. The presentation was entitled "It's not only about technology! Educating future standards professionals." The presentation was a milestone event, as this was the first time when the first version of the Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) for standardisation education and the vision of the Innovative Teaching Concept of Standardisation (ITCoS) – the intellectual products of WP2 – were presented to the public for discussion and feedback. The presentation by two university teams was contributed to by joint efforts of Vladislav Fomin, Elisabeth Staudegger, Hristina Veljanova, Kęstutis Mosakas, Oksana Kuzmuk, David Bierbauer, Rimvydas Laužikas, and Barbara Reiter. The abstract of the presentation has been published in the STS Graz book of abstracts and can be found at .
