Features of the effect of orographic barriers on the distribution of snow cover in the cold period in the Altai Territory are considered. A comparative analysis of the spatiotemporal variability of the maximum snow cover and snow cover for the most representative (for the most representative) meteorological stations during the main period of 1966-2015 is given. in comparison with the period 1966-1977. It is important to choose the boundary conditions of the analyzed time periods.
