Új Irányfüggő Háttérillesztési Eljárás A Fermi Gamma-Műhold Adatainak Feldolgozására

Abstract

Title in English: Direction Dependent Background Fitting Method for analysing the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope's Data English Abstract: Modern space instruments, like Fermi, have some specific motion to survey the sky and catch gamma-ray bursts in the most effective way. However, GBM bursts sometimes have highly varying backgrounds (with or without ARR), and modelling them with a polynomial function of time is not efficient - one needs more complex, Fermi-specific methods. This thesis presents a new direction dependent background fitting method and shows how it can be used for filtering the lightcurves. Ezzel a fénygörbe alkalmassá válik további statisztikus vizsgálatokra. A modellt és az eljárást ellenőrizendő elkészítettük a kitörések időtartamának eloszlását, mely konzisztens a várakozásainkkal. Összevetettük a mintát két másik módszerrel feldolgozott mintával is. Továbbá megmutattuk, hogy a nemrég megjelent hivatalos Fermi-katalógus adataival is hibahatáron belül egyezik az eredményünk.
