
This report discusses how the Energy Access Explorer (EAE) platform can be used to enhance rural electrification planning in Ghana. It explores the potential of EAE's geospatial data and advanced analytics tools to identify high-priority areas for different electrification strategies, such as grid extension, mini-grids, and standalone systems. The presentation demonstrates how EAE's multi-criteria analysis and spatial analysis capabilities can evaluate factors like proximity to existing infrastructure, population density, renewable energy potential, and energy demand levels. The results highlight specific regions in Ghana that require immediate attention for grid extension or off-grid solutions based on their energy access potential, demand, and assistance needs. The presentation aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, utility companies, and rural development agencies in Ghana to make informed decisions and accelerate electrification efforts in underserved communities.
