Type Species: Hylomys suillus Müller 1840 Species and subspecies: 3 species with 7 subspecies: Species Hylomys megalotis Jenkins and M. F. Robinson 2002 Species Hylomys parvus Robinson and Kloss 1916 Species Hylomys suillus Müller 1840 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. suillus Müller 1840 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. dorsalis Thomas 1888 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. maxi Sody 1933 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. microtinus Thomas 1925 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. pegunensis Blyth 1859 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. siamensis Kloss 1916 Subspecies Hylomys suillus subsp. tionis Chasen 1940 Discussion: Fossil Hylomys have been documented in Miocene sediments of Thailand (Mein and Ginsburg, 1997). The taxonomy of the extant species was partly revised by Ruedi et al. (1994). Frost et al. (1991) and Jenkins and Robinson (2002) included Neohylomys and Neotetracus in Hylomys, but both genera were retained as separate taxa by Corbet (1988) and Mein and Ginsburg (1997).
