
Podoxymys roraimae Anthony 1929 Podoxymys roraimae Anthony 1929, Am. Mus. Novit., 383: 4. Type Locality: Guyana, Mazaruni-Potaro Dist., summit of Mt Roraima, 8600 ft (2621 m). Vernacular Names: Roraima Akodont. Distribution: Guyana and adjacent portions of Venezuela and Brazil (as per Fonseca et al., 1996). Probably occurs on other neighboring tepuis within Venezuela (Linares, 1998). Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt). Discussion: Known only by the original type series of 5 specimens and a single specimen reported by Pérez-Zapata et al. (1992).
