
Necromys amoenus Thomas 1900 Necromys amoenus Thomas 1900, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 7, 6: 468. Type Locality: Perú, Arequipa Dept., Calalla, Río Colca, near Sumbay, 3500 m. Vernacular Names: Pleasant Akodont. Distribution: Altiplano grasslands, above 3200 m, of SE Perú and W Bolivia, as far south as Tarija Dept. (Anderson, 1993). Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Bolomys amoenus. Discussion: Morphological definition as type species of Bolomys Thomas, 1916, clarified by Reig (1987) and Anderson and Olds (1989). Additional Bolivian localities reported by Salazar-Bravo et al. (2002 b).
