Abstract

This paper presents a summary of knowledge of hoverflies of the Świętokrzyski National Park (Poland) and of a wide belt of adjoining areas, based mostly on the results of faunistic survey conducted in years 1978-1984. In total 176 hoverfly species were found in that area. Seventeen of those species are present on the Red List of Threatened Species of Poland. Detailed information is provided about twenty one species little known in Poland.
