Eurypogon sanzang Wang & Liu 2021

Abstract

Eurypogon sanzang Wang & Liu, 2021 (Figs 3A, B; 8A; 10D; 12D) Eurypogon sanzang Wang & Liu, 2021: 39. Type locality. China, Henan province, Nanyang City, Neixiang County, Baotianman Nature Reserve, 33°29′33″N 111°55′48″E. Type material. Holotype male (MYNU), labeled: “ China: Henan: Nanyang City, Neixiang County, Baotianman Nature Reserve, N33°29’33” E111°55’48”, 1310 m, 2.V.2020, light trap, Hao-Yi Liu leg.”. Additional material examined. See all specimens reported in Packova et al. (2023). Diagnosis. This species can be recognized based on the following combination of characters: body (Fig. 3A,B) elongate and narrow; head, pronotum, and elytra (Figs 3A,B; 8A) more or less uniformly dark brown to blackish; male elytra 2.30–2.55 times as long as wide; female elytra about 2.10 times as long as wide; elytral surface (Fig. 10D) rather smooth; aedeagus (Fig. 12D) with U-shaped phallobase. Sexual dimorphism and variability. See detailed information in Packova et al. (2023). Distribution. Eurypogon sanzang seems to be relatively widespread across Qinling Shan mountain range in southern Shaanxi and continuing mountains in western Henan, China (Fig. 15).
