Proyecto Humboldt Digital: Selección de corpus y prioridad de digitalización (fuentes en La Habana)

Abstract

Proyecto Humboldt Digital The German-Cuban research and digitization initiative "Proyecto Humboldt Digital" (ProHD) has made important sources on "Humboldt and Cuba" digitally accessible for the first time during its project period (2019-2023). The project, carried out jointly by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) and the Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana (OHCH), has digitized rare sources from various archives in the Cuban capital and published them in a project repository (https://prohd.ohc.cu/xmlui). The project has also published a selection of Humboldt related manuscripts - from Cuban collections and from the Humboldt Papers in Berlin and Krakow - as a facsimile edition under the title "Digitales Dossier: Humboldt und Kuba 1800–1830" (https://dossierdigital.ohc.cu). The documents selected for the digital dossier from the Cuban archives are largely the result of cooperation with the following institutions: Archivo Nacional de la República de Cuba (ARNAC) Instituto de Literatura y Lingüística "José Antonio Portuondo Valdor" (ILL) Oficina del Historiador de la Ciudad de La Habana (OHCH) Archivo Histórico; Biblioteca del Gabinete de Arqueología; Biblioteca Histórica Cubana y Americana "Francisco González del Valle". The purpose of this dataset The digitization campaign was coordinated through a shared living document with information on Cuban primary sources for the project corpus. The document was primarily used for data aggregation and project management (prioritization of digitization). A reduced version is published here for the purpose of archiving the relevant research data. Further readings Kraft, Tobias; Rojas Castro, Antonio; Terrón Quintero, Grisel (Eds.)
