Research project report: What have we Learned from COVID-19 Experience in Teacher Education

Abstract

The outbreak of COVID-19 forced most universities into distance education. Three didacticians and researchers from the University of Maribor, Slovenia: Mateja Ploj Virtič, Kosta Dolenc and Andrej Šorgo formed a self-initiated initiative project group during the COVID-19 epidemic and started the project with the working title: What have we Learned from COVID-19 Experience in Teacher Education. The project aimed to overcome the educational challenges revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring all students had access to necessary technology and suitable workspaces, particularly during school closures. It focused on improving student satisfaction, health, well-being, and motivation by addressing the disparities in remote learning environments. By advocating for and implementing essential guidelines for educational institutions, the project worked towards making remote online education more viable and inclusive, not just for individual interactions but as a sustainable model in teacher education.
