Tolania fraterna Stål, 1862e: 37: Chiriqui: Boquete (1♀: HWIC). Questionable citation for Panamá. Goding (1927a: 191), Funkhouser (1927f: 494), and Metcalf & Wade (1965a: 1518) all synomymized Tolania fraterna Stål with Tolania obtusa Fowler, giving T. obtusa ’s Panamá distribution for T. fraterna Stål. Albertson and Dietrich (2006: 933) give Brazil as the only distribution for T. fraterna and reinstate T. obtusa Fowler as a valid species. Specimen iden tified by the author from HWIC was identified prior to Albertson and Dietrich’s 2006 revision, using the only key at the time from Goding 1927a: 190. Specimen warrants re-examination to validate identification as either T. fraterna or T. obtusa.
