Survey / Umfrage "Rechtsübersetzen bzw. Gerichtsdolmetschen und Terminologienormen"

Abstract

German text of an exploratory survey for Legal Interpreters and Translators (LITs) sent via the Austrian Association Österreichischer Verband der allgemein beeideten und gerichtlich zertifizierten Dolmetscher (ÖVGD) to their members. The questionnaire consists of 27, predominantly closed questions plus one initial question for data management and privacy information. The survey collects information about the respondents, their knowledge and perceived importance of terminology standards, and the implementation of the standards in their terminology collections. Opinions are sought on their preferred entry structures. The survey was conducted online from June to July 2021 and compiled by around 100 respondents. The purpose of the survey was to partially fill the gap of missing quantitative data on the knowledge and use of terminology standards by LITs.
