Abstract

Introducción: La divulgación de los resultados científicos son parte sustancial de los resultados en los procesos (I+D+i), son una vía de intercambio para los académicos de todo el mundo, además contribuyen a incrementar la visibilidad de las instituciones y el país. Objetivo: sistematizar las principales tendencias de publicación en el quehacer científico en Ecuador. Método: se empleó la metodología cualitativa con métodos teóricos de análisis, síntesis, inducción y deducción con la técnica de revisión documental. Resultados: se precisaron las características de la comunicación de la ciencia en Ecuador que se corresponden a las tendencias internacionales. Conclusión: se pudo constatar la evolución de las publicaciones en el país, tomando como referencia importantes bases de datos como Scopus, lo cual permite ubicar en el ranking actual determinadas investigaciones.

Introduction: The diffusion of scientific results is a significant part of the results in the processes (R+D+i), as they are a means of exchange for academics worldwide. They also contribute to increase the visibility of the institutions and that of the country. Objective: to outline the main publication trends in scientific research in Ecuador. Method: a bibliographic review, as well as theoretical methods of analysis such as synthesis, induction and deduction. Results: the characteristics of science communication in Ecuador correspond to international trends. Conclusion: it was also possible to verify the evolution of publications in the country, taking as reference important databases such as Scopus, which allows certain investigations to be placed in the current ranking.
