Abstract

Aleiodes tmaliaae sp. nov. (Fig. 177) Holotype ♂, Thailand, exact locality and date of collection unknown, B. Butcher (voucher BCLDQ01208, Genbank HM435167) (CUMZ). Body length 5.2 mm, fore wing length 4.3 mm and antenna length 6.0 mm. Antenna with 38 flagellomeres. Terminal flagellomere acuminate. Median flagellomeres approximately 4 x longer than wide. Occipital carina absent mediodorsally, ventrally joining hypostomal carina Mesopleuron largely aciculate with subvertical rugae anterodorsally, longitudinal rugulose sculpture dorsally, precoxal sulcus weaky impressed, rugulose, speculum absent. Midlongitudinal propodeal carina absent on posterior 0.3. Fore wing vein 2- CU1 1.2 x 1-CU1. Fore wing subbasal cell with a disting narrow oval glabrous area on distal 0.1. Fore wing vein 3- SR 0.95 x vein r. Fore wing vein 2-SR+M 0.75 x vein r. Fore wing vein SR1 2.65 x vein 3-SR. Hind wing vein M+CU 1.95 x 1-M. Hind wing subbasal cell largely glabrous. Hind wing vein m-cu present as a well-developed, weakly pigmented, fold, slightly postfurcal. Hind tibia with comb of adpressed setae apicomedially and ventrally. Claws with a few fine setae but without conspicuous pectinal structure. Baso-lateral flange of 1st metasomal tergite angularly produced and distinctly concave posteriorly and posterior margin of lobe nearly transverse or even reclivous, projecting far beyond the small swelling associated with the spiracle. 3 rd tergite with complete midlongitudinal carina. Etymology. Named after the assassin character Lady T'Malia in the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels.
