Abstract

Title: Students' International Network for Astronomy and its Projects for Sustainable Development Presenter: Mahdi Rokni (Commission C1 WG Astronomy Education Research & Methods; Manager of Students' International Network for Astronomy (SINA), Itan) Colaborator:Akihiko Tomita (Commission C1 WG Astronomy Education Research & Methods)Saba Izadi (Commission C1 WG Astronomy Education Research & Methods)Melika Gonbadi (Commission C1 WG Astronomy Education Research & Methods) This was a poster presented at the 5th Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education, organised by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education (OAE, http//astro4edu.org). This network has been established by students in a small city in the south of Iran. It was a desire to globalize all the activities and plans that they have been carrying out in Mehr observatory. Some of these activities contain a lot of social skills and different methods for students to do. The main aims of this network are Involving students in astronomical programs and projects, preparing a reliable structure for students around the world to meet each other using astronomy as a link, using the methods of sustainable development to teach students about the global environmental concerns and world peace, letting students make friends with each other without limitation and introducing their own culture.About the 5th Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education:This year’s Shaw-IAU Workshop on Astronomy for Education focuses on two themes: one special practical astronomy education topic and one scientific topic. The special topic is astronomy education outside the classroom, looking at how astronomy can be taught in a diverse range of environments such as science centers, planetaria and youth clubs. The scientific topic is planetary atmospheres, both in the solar system and exoplanets as well as our own Earth. The workshop was organised by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education (http://astro4edu.org). More details can be found on: https://astro4edu.org/shaw-iau/5th-shaw-iau-workshop/schedule/ Keep up to date with future Shaw-IAU Workshops and other opportunities at the IAU Office of Astronomy for Education by joining our mailing list https://astro4edu.org/mailing-list/ Follow the IAU OAE on X and Facebook under @astro4edu
