Inventory of old-age trees of the Botanical Garden of Ivanovo State University

Abstract

The results of inventorying of old-aged trees in the Botanical Garden of Ivanovo State University are presented. A total of 178 specimens of old-aged trees were identified, that belong to 18 species, 15 genera, 11 families, 2 classes and 2 divisions. The oldest trees in the collection of the Botanical Garden are 130 years old Abies sibirica Ledeb., Acer platanoides L. aged 125, 125 years old Aesculus glabra Willd. and Fraxinus pennsylvanica Marsh. aged 107. In order to prevent the loss of old-aged trees from the stands of the Botanical Garden, it is necessary to organize a complex of care, protective and security measures.
