Abstract

Teratofulvioides punctatus Carvalho & Lorenzato, 1978 Material examined. Irian Jaya, Jayawijaya-Prov. Angguruk Tanggeam, 1500–1800 m, 28. –29.IX.1991, leg. A. Riedel (ZSM). Diagnosis. See generic diagnosis. Redescription (composite description based on Carvalho & Lorenzato 1978 and the examined male specimen). Dorsum mostly fuscous with yellow areas, shiny, weakly punctate, covered with short, fine, reclining, sparse setae (Figs 11B, D). Head contrastingly yellow, broadly tinged with red, covered with very short, sparse setae, sparsely and deeply punctate (Fig. 11); antenna mostly yellow, covered with, moderately long and dense, adpressed and semirecumbent setae; antennomere I with two narrow, reddish annulations one situated near base and other subapically, nearly cylindrical; antennomere II from entirely yellow or yellow with slightly darkened apex to castaneous, weakly incrassate; antennomeres III and IV yellow to fuscous (Figs 11A, B); labium mostly yellow, reaching beyond middle of abdomen; segment I broadly tinged with fuscous basally; segment IV fuscous (Figs 11A, C). Pronotum entirely fuscous, punctate, collar narrow, nearly absent in dorsal view calli flattened, pit between calli present (Figs 11B, D). Scutellum fuscous with small yellow patch apically (Fig. 11B). Hemelytron fuscous with small yellow patch on inner portion of posterior part of exocorium and inner angle of cuneus; membrane fuscous with large, pale grey tinge bordering inner margin of cuneus (Fig. 11B). Legs varying from yellow to castaneous; coxae and trochanters pale yellow (Figs 11A, B); tarsomere I shorter than tarsomeres II and III; pretarsal claw with distinct subapical tooth. Abdomen dark brown (Fig. 11A). Measurements: See Table 1. Distribution. Indonesia (West Papua: Jayawijaya) (this paper), Papua New Guinea (Carvalho & Lorenzato 1978). Biology. Unknown.
