O ensino do piano popular para crianças: apontando caminhos

Abstract

This article is part of an ongoing doctoral research at UFMG's School of Music, which aims to investigate the development of harmonic perception skills and their practical application in piano lessons for children aged 7 to 8. The repertoire to be covered in the study will consist of Brazilian Popular Music, ranging from folk songs to MPB classics. In this section, we report on a "pilot" experiment carried out with an 8-year-old piano student, with the aim of testing strategies for working on the perception of harmonic stimuli in piano lessons, using activities specifically prepared for this study. The article is organized into two sections: in the first, we present the theoretical framework that underpins the study; in the second, we share the strategies that were used to work on the perception of harmonic stimuli in piano lessons. We believe that the data obtained in this work will provide guidelines for the next stages of the research.
