Type localities. (M. r. e.) Livingstone, Zambia; (M. p.) Cape region, RSA; (M. c.) Cape region, RSA. Distribution. Africa south of the Sahara (Berg et al. 2011). Records. CSC: ♁, new station, 03.IV.–12. V.2017, M. Pohl leg. Remarks. The “European” Mantis is much less common in tropical habitats than in subtropical and temperate parts of its extensive range (Siberia to Cape region, Portugal to Timor, introduced in the USA: Berg et al. 2011, Anderson 2018).
