
Fossil bivalve of the species *Hippopodium ponderosum* (BIRUG 60081). This species was likely a facultatively mobile, infaunal suspension feeder and lived in marine environments. This specimen was collected from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, UK and dates to the Sinemurian in the Lower Jurassic (199.3–190.8 million years ago).
