Polidipsia Induzida pelo Esquema em Ratos: Exemplo Clássico de Comportamento Adjuntivo

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever a polidipsia induzida pelo esquema em ratos como principal exemplo de comportamento adjuntivo. A polidipsia ocorre quando um organismo privado de alimento, submetido a um esquema de reforçamento intermitente, consome grandes quantidades de água depois da apresentação de cada estímulo reforçador. A partir do estudo da polidipsia induzida pelo esquema é possível aprender as principais características do que seria um comportamento adjuntivo e estabelecer analogia entre essa classe de comportamento e as compulsões típicas do Transtorno Obsessivo-Compulsivo. A análise dos resultados dos estudos experimentais sobre a polidipsia sugere a necessidade de realização de novos estudos que investiguem a relação entre fatores biológicos e os mecanismos de condicionamento reflexo e operante envolvidos no fenômeno da polidipsia.
