Abstract

Time management, in addition to being a very useful quality to carry out any activity in our lives, in the educational field, and, above all, in virtual learning environments, turns out to be a fundamental competence for students to achieve the objectives of learning. In this work, we begin with the definition of concepts that we consider key to understanding the importance of time management in a broader framework of education. Thus, very briefly, we address the notions of competence, face-to-face and virtual learning, learning environment, and self-management. Subsequently, we show the results obtained through an instrument applied to a group of students. With this, we analyze some aspects related to time management and the usefulness that students themselves give it to manage their learning. Finally, we conclude with a brief discussion of the role that time management plays in virtual learning environments.
