Mycoleptodonoides tropicalis is illustrated and described as a new species from tropical forest in Yunnan Province, southwestern China. It is morphologically characterized by fan-shaped basidiocarps, hydnoid hymenophore, fusiform cystidia, and smooth, subglobose to globose, non-amyloid basidiospores. A key to the Chinese species of Mycoleptodonoides is given.
