The article presents the features of the implementation of innovative technologies for the preservation of the documentary heritage of the world’s leading countries. The study object is digitization of library collections. The study subject is theoretical and organizational and methodological foundations for the implementation of digitization of documentary heritage. The study purpose is to study the experience of introducing innovative technologies for preserving the scientific collections of libraries in leading countries of the world with its harmonious adaptation to the needs of domestic libraries. It was found that international organizations, in particular UNESCO, actively support the digitization of library collections in order to preserve and ensure free access to them. It has been established that in foreign countries, the digitization of documentary heritage has a significant legal framework consisting of strategies, declarations, guidelines and recommendations. The accumulation of digital content is one of the main trends in modern culture and an objective condition for the development of global information civilization. The example of the National Scientific Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine as a leading special institution of national importance shows the undeniable role of digitization processes in raising the efficiency of information and library provision of users’ needs. The key issues related to the organization of the digitization of library collections have been identified. У статті представлено особливості впровадження інноваційних технологій для збереження документної спадщини провідних країн світу. Об’єкт дослідження – оцифровування бібліотечних фондів. Предмет дослідження – теоретичні та організаційно-методичні засади реалізації оцифровування документної спадщини. Метою дослідження є вивчення досвіду впровадження інноваційних технологій для збереження наукових фондів бібліотек провідних країн світу з його гармонійним адаптуванням для потреб вітчизняних книгозбірень. З’ясовано, що міжнародні організації, зокрема ЮНЕСКО, активно підтримують оцифровування бібліотечних фондів задля збереження та забезпечення вільного доступу до них. Встановлено, що в іноземних країнах оцифровування документної спадщини має значну нормативно-правову базу, яка складається зі стратегій, декларацій, керівництв та рекомендацій. Накопичення цифрового контенту є однією з основних тенденцій у культурі сучасності та об’єктивною умовою розвитку глобальної інформаційної цивілізації. На прикладі Національної наукової сільськогосподарської бібліотеки Національної академії аграрних наук України як провідної спеціальної інституції загальнодержавного значення показана беззаперечна роль процесів оцифровування у піднесенні ефективності інформаційно-бібліотечного забезпечення потреб користувачів. Визначено ключові питання, пов’язані з організацією оцифровування бібліотечних фондів.
