Abstract

La mente umana è continuamente immersa in un ambiente ricco di stimoli sensoriali, che la mente interpreta ed organizza, consentendo all’individuo di adattarsi al suo ambiente. L’immagine e la musica sono stimoli neurosensoriali dotati di un potere rappresentativo del contesto sociale e culturale. Tali stimoli si caratterizzano di elementi estetici-artistici che li rendono universalmente espressivi facilitando l’immediata processualità cognitiva. Lo studio sperimentale condotto su soggetti di diversa età propone, in una prima fase, la visione sequenziale di immagini che, nella fase successiva, sono associate a colonne sonore di diverso stile. Il lavoro evidenzia nella totalità dei volontari anziani e la metà dei volontari giovani una immediata comprensione e ricostruzione della storia attraverso la visione delle immagini. L’altra metà dei giovani che hanno risposto negativamente si avviano ad un cambiamento radicale nella fase successiva con l’associazione delle immagini alle colonne sonore. L’associazione dei due stimoli sensoriali crea un forte impatto esperienziale e mentale tale da produrre una modifica nell’approccio empatico e cognitivo della storia osservata conducendo un significativo cambiamento nel processo di comprensione.
