Abstract

1. Das Chlormetakresol (Lysochlor) ist ein machtiges Desinfectionsmittel. Insbesondere schnell vernichtet es vegetative Spaltpilze, darunter die Eiterkokken. 2. Da seine Wirkung, wie die der ubrigen Kresole, in eiweisshaltigen oder seifenhaltigen Medien kaum geringer ist, eignet sich in Anbetracht seiner starken baktericiden Kraft ganz besonders zur Hautdesinfection. 3. Das Chlormetakresol wirkt am starksten in Alkohol, noch besser in Alkohol-Acetongemisch (nach v. Herff). 4. Zur Desinfection der Haut eignet sich von den Schnelldesinfectionsmethoden die v. Herff'sche am besten. Diese wird durch die Zugabe von 1 proc. Chlormetakresol noch verbessert und beschleunigt, so dass man in 3 1/2 bis 4 Minuten genugende Keimarmuth der Haut erzielen kann. Die Fromme-Gawronsky'sche Gummihandschuhmethode kann durch das Chlormetakresol-Alkohol-Acetongemisch um die Halfte der dazu nothigen Zeit (4 Min.) verkurzt werden. 5. Wegen der stark baktericiden Kraft der wasserigen Losungen und wegen geringerer Giftigkeit (s. Laubenheimer) wird sich das Chlormetakresol zu desinficirenden Spulungen sehr gut gebrauchen lassen.
