In this bachelor thesis I explained a short history of audio engineering i.e. recording and reproduction of sound and described the most significant events in the development of the latter. Furthermore, the topic of my work is closely related to the modifications in audiosignal so it's important to understand all the kinds of signal distortions and how they manifest that is how people perceive them. For a long time analog gear was used to create such effects but with the development of technology the very first virtual instruments appeared along with the first audio plug-ins in a variety of formats and one of them was VST. In the final paper I described the making of virtual audio plug-in which purposely adds distortion to the audiosignal and it's in VST3 format. There's a big potential in the development of this technology and this can be seen in the daily rise in the number of such software available.

U ovom radu objasnio sam kratku povijest audioprodukcije tj. snimanja i reprodukcije zvuka i opisao najznačajnije trenutke u razvoju istoga. Nadalje, tema kojom sam se bavio je usko vezana uz modifikaciju audiosignala pa je važno shvatiti kakva sve izobličenja signala postoje i kako se manifestiraju tj. kako ih ljudi percipiraju. Za postizanje takvih efekata dugo se koristila analogna oprema, ali razvojem tehnologije došlo je i do pojave prvih virtualnih instrumenata i audio dodataka u raznim formatima, a jedan od njih je i VST. U radu je opisana i izrada virtualnog audio dodatka za namjerno dodavanje izobličenja u signal tj. distorzija i taj efekt je VST3 formata. Veliki potencijal leži u razvoju ove tehnologije, a to je i vidljivo svakodnevnim porastom novih programa te vrste na tržištu.
