Medizindokumente in Hochschulrepositorien: Auswertung von Repositorien mit medizinischer Fakultät

Abstract

This article provides an analysis of thirty-five carefully selected institutional repositories (IRs) along with a comparison among themselves. These repositories are run by universities with medical faculties within their profile. The article focuses on the overall size (number of documents) and on the publications that are stored in the IRs by the respective medical faculty. Furthermore, the medical publications will be examined by type: graduate theses, journal articles, books and book chapters. This text concentrates on journal articles which are stored in open access repositories and tries to figure out the factors and motivations which might encourage or form an obstacle to publishing scientific publications in a broader scale.
