Nomenclatural and taxonomic notes on the names published in Kalanchoe (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae) by Drake del Castillo in 1903

Abstract

The nomenclature of the three names that Emmanuel Drake del Castillo published in Kalanchoe (Crassulaceae subfam. Kalanchooideae), K. antanosiana, K. beharensis, and K. linearifolia, in 1903 is reviewed and discussed. Kalanchoe beharensis and K. linearifolia are today accepted species, but K. antanosiana is widely treated as a synonym of K. orgyalis. Corrections are made to the typification of the names K. beharensis and K. vantieghemii to maintain the current application of these names, with the latter being a homotypic synonym of K. beharensis.
