Soient \(X\) un espace de Tychonoff, \(\mathcal B\) une famille de sous-ensembles de \(X\) et \(\mathcal C(X)\) l'espace des fonctions réelles continues sur \(X\). Si les éléments de \(\mathcal B\) sont relativement pseudocompacts, la topologie de la convergence uniforme sur les éléments de \(\mathcal B\) est métrisable, et les ensembles bornés forment une bornologie. Le but de cet article est d'étendre la dualité entre espaces vectoriels topologiques et bornologiques à des catégories plus vastes, de façon qu'elle s'applique à des cas où les éléments de \(\mathcal B\) ne sont pas nécessairement pseudocompacts.
