Abstract The article presents practical data on the operation of cogeneration mini-CHP plants in the energy sector of the Far East using imported low-power GTU as the main generating equipment. This type of power station is an example of decentralized distributed energy that has become widespread in Western Europe, and is first introduced in the energy sector of the Far East. Mini-thermal power plants based on GTU with the use of cogeneration have a great economic potential for application in the energy sector of the Far East, taking into account the positive and negative sides indicated in this article.
