NEP 2020 aims to ensure that no child is deprived of the opportunity to learn and excel because of circumstances at birth or other background. Special emphasis will be given to socially and economically disadvantaged groups including gender, socio-cultural and geographical identity and disability. These include gender inclusion funds and establishment of special education zones for disadvantaged regions and groups. Children with disabilities will be able to participate fully in the regular school education process from pre-primary stage to higher education with the help of training, resource centers, accommodation facilities, assistive devices, appropriate technology-based tools and other assistive devices tailored to their needs.
