Abstract We suppose a model of a broad conduction band and two narrow bands, lying above and below the conduction band and coupled to it. For the model we calculate the interaction between opposite momenta pair-states in the conduction band and find that this is essentially repulsive (positive), thus excluding this model for a superconductive pairing mechanism. However, a one narrow-band model leads to a uniformly attractive interaction.
