The Biodiversity Weekend was initiated by the National Museum of Natural History in 2000 with the aid of local municipalities and is organized once a year. The aim of the Biodiversity Weekend is to raise citizen's interest in biodiversity and to show that biodiversity is not only found in the tropical rainforest, but also in our 'normal landscape'. Citizen supported by scientists and volunteer scientific collaborators from the National Museum of Natural History explore the given municipality in order to find as many animal and plant species as possible. The occurrence recodes in this dataset were previously contained in the GBIF dataset: Collections and observation data National Museum of Natural History Luxembourg https://www.gbif.org/dataset/962f59bc-f762-11e1-a439-00145eb45e9a
