Marine and Coastal Management (MCM) is one of four branches of the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism. It is the regulatory authority responsible for managing all marine and coastal activities. The linefish dataset is collected around the South African Coast, and currently contains 2759599 records of 63 families. For ease of extraction the dataset has been divided into 42 smaller datasets - one per semester for each year from 1985 to 2005.
