This evolving reduction in applicant pool is discussed with reference to caused factors and contrasted with the post World War II boom. These factors are discussed in relationship to present and future fiscal integrity of our optometric colleges. The author illustrates the need for securing financial support from state governments for existing optometric educational institutions before building new schools.
