Abstract

Los asistentes a la conferencia de Luxemburgo en 1929, sobre bilingiiismo en la educación, coincidieron en criticar las consecuencias del bilingiiismo afirmando su influencia negativa sobre el desarrollo intelectual de 10s alum- rlos y también sobre su capacidad lingiiistica y sobre sus conocimientos esco- lares. Algunos, incluso, insinuaron efectos negativos sobre la personalidad. Y Reis, que abrió la Conferencia en nombre de Luxemburgo hizo una descrip- ción mas bien sombria del caracter de 10s luxemburgueses, derivandolo di- rectamente de su bilingiiismo.
