El problema de la disparidad de versiones sobre un mismo hecho es, quizás, el mas frecuente del analisis mitico. A este respecto, LeviStrauss formuló en su momento, no sin despertar fuertes controversias, la necesidad teórica de integrarlas en una lectura Única, abstrayendo del conjunto por una parte una estructura, por otra los diversos niveles de significacion y los múltiples sistemas de referencias de cada una de ellas. Pese a no compartir todos los extremos de esta linea metodologica, para nosotros es tarribien evidente que las variantes de un mismo rnito -sea cua1 fuere el medio en que se encuentran- reflejan la estructura común del mitologema y mantienen entre si relaciones complementarias
