Abstract

El proyecto “Catálogo de Santas Vivas (1400-1550): Hacia un corpus completo de un modelo hagiográfico femenino”, dirigido por la catedrática Rebeca Sanmartín, ha puestoen evidencia la importancia de analizar las hagiografías de mujeres carismáticas oconsideradas santas que vivieron entre la baja Edad media y la primera mitad del sigloXVI para perfilar las influencias que configuraron la piedad de Teresa de Jesús y, engeneral, entender el modelo de santidad defendido en el ámbito de la monarquía hispánicadurante la Contrarreforma.Entre los flos sanctorum más difundidos y leídos en la época tridentina se halla elconfeccionado por Alonso de Villegas, cuyo primer volumen (de un total de seis) vio laluz en 1578. Este escritor toledano y, en 1599, el jesuita Pedro Ribadeneyra, con laprimera parte de su florilegio, renovaron el género acudiendo a autores antiguos y textoscercanos a su tiempo a la par que mostraban una mayor conciencia de creación y revisiónde contenidos, para ofrecer modelos de comportamiento permitidos por los nuevosvalores tridentinos
