Abstract

Un dels grans fenòmens sociològics de l'Espanya dels 70 va ser el protagonitzat per Los payasos de la tele, que possiblement els que rondem la cinquantena recordem haver vist per TVE quan érem infants. Malgrat les grans contradiccions que hi havia al seu xou, com per exemple el masclisme inherent en algunes de les cançons que van popularitzar, hi ha una pregunta que sempre feien i que resumeix un aspecte clau de les relacions humanes: ¿Cómo están ustedes? A mitjans de desembre vaig fer una de les conferències plenàries a la reunió anual de l'International Bureau of Education de la Unesco, una organització on just aquests dies he finalitzat un projecte com a assessor en neurociència aplicada a l'educació. En aquesta conferència, a la qual acostumen a assistir gestors polítics i educatius, em van demanar que parlés sobre els efectes cognitius que la gestió de la Covid-19 pot tenir en els adolescents i joves, que estan en unes etapes crucials per a la construcció de la personalitat adulta. Les dades que vaig recollir per preparar-la, d'una seixantena d'estudis publicats aquests darrers mesos, són preocupants, atès que incideixen en un dels aspectes més delicats de la joventut: l'equilibri emocional. Per això vaig decidir començar la intervenció, de manera poc canònica, amb una imatge de Los payasos de la tele on feien aquesta pregunta, que vaig adreçar a tots els assistents: 'How are you today?'
