El boxeo. ¿Una religión sin Dios?

Abstract

El boxeo es un deporte “fronterizo” cuya legitimidad es muy a menudo puesta en duda. Catalogado como “el noble arte”, la tradición boxística se inscribe en un universo simbólico que otorga valores y organizado como procesos en el espacio y en el tiempo. Sin centrarme excesivamente en la interpretación mística del boxeo, a partir de la cual se elabora una figura heroica que se mueve en el mundo boxístico, el objetivo de esta investigación es hacer una aproximación por el mundo de los propios boxeadores, haciendo hincapié en los que se dedican a este deporte de manera profesional. Me centraré en la antropología del cuerpo y de las emociones a través de la práctica pugilística y reflexionaré sobre el concepto de violencia. ¿Existe algo sagrado y profano en el boxeo? ¿Podemos observar rituales de paso? ¿Qué se necesita para la preparación de un combate? ¿Llegan a afianzar los boxeadores su propia identidad llegando incluso a generar una auto-transform
