Abstract

La migrazione, scrive il culturalista Stuart Hall, è un viaggio senza ritorno: per il migrante non c’è mai una casa alla quale tornare. Seguendo questo percorso di nostalgia, spaesamento e reintegrazione, e nella consapevolezza di quanto esso sia ricorrente e profondo nella contemporaneità, questo secondo numero di 'Altre Modernità' sceglie di occuparsi di letterature e migrazioni, al tempo stesso delimitando la prospettiva e riconducendone la chiave agli universi molteplici della contemporaneità. Anche così, molte e variegate sono le tematiche che emergono. L’idea dell’esperienza migratoria come viaggio iniziatico e come rito di passaggio, che simbolicamente implica la trasformazione dell’io, si coniuga e intreccia con un fertile archivio di metafore e archetipi che la scrittura letteraria ha predisposto o predispone per tradurre in epistemologia l'esperienza migratoria. In questo modo, la riflessione assume una caratteristica culturalmente condivisa e condivisibile, ancorché storicizzata e specifica, delineando una prospettiva per così dire globale o universale. Molte ipotesi analitiche sono possibili, ed esse producono altrettanti approcci critici e tematici, tutti trattati in questo numero.
