Il contributo si prefigge l’obiettivo di individuare e analizzare sotto l’aspetto formale e funzionale un corpus di documenti strettamente connessi tra loro – oltre ai testamenti e ai codicilli, fanno parte del dossier anche gli atti di esecuzione tra cui, in primis, gli inventari post mortem e le aste di beni dei defunti – riguardante la formulazione e l’esecuzione delle ultimae voluntates di notai attivi prevalentemente nell’Italia centro settentrionale nel periodo compreso tra il secolo XII e il XV.

The aim of the text is to identify and analyse, from a formal and functional point of view, a corpus of closely related documents – in addition to wills and codicils, the dossier also includes execution deeds, including above all post-mortem inventories and auctions of the deceased’s property – concerning the formulation and execution of ultimae voluntates by notaries working mainly in central-northern Italy in the period between the 12th and 15th centuries.
