Abstract

PUBLISHED Fisheries historians have a lot to learn from marine science. If properly applied, methodologies commonly used by fisheries biologists can enrich fisheries history and offer completely new insights to maritime historians. This article will discuss how one powerful set of analytical tools from fisheries biology can clarify central concepts within the field of fisheries history.
