Abstract

Il saggio riporta l'esito di indagini, svolte nell'area nota come Caucasian Albania in Azerbaijan su edifici religiosi tardo antichi in stato di rudere, particolarmente la Kum Church nella Regione di Gakh, nel quadro di un progetto di ricerca internazionale e a seguito di sopralluoghi, rilievi, valutazioni congiunte con docenti della Facoltà di Architettura di Baku. Sono analizzate esperenze svolte dal fondatore dell'Istituto di Restauro di Firenze Piero Sanpaolesi in Paesi islamici e sono svolte analisi comparative con edifici religiosi italiani attualmente in esame.
